colors! =) mmmm colors....

- you're probably wondering where this story stands now. Well, i've gotten the story to my liking. after working and reworking on the script, i've managed to come to a story that i personally would like to see. it IS about a frog who's not so different then the story i've just told you. i'm working on the storyboards on my short now and hope to have that updated soon on my blog...
so stick around farrukh's peeps cause there's a lot to come =)

Hey Farrukh,

Before you get too far along with your film, I just want to mention something I think you should be aware of. Though the multi-coloured frogs you're experimenting with may look more fun to the audience, those types of frogs are that exotic looking for a reason - to ward off predators that might want to eat them! Many of your viewers are likely to recognize them as the toxic "Arrow-Poison Frogs", and therefore it won't be credible for some chef to take them off to the kitchen to eat.

If I were you, I'd keep them in more traditional, domestic frog greens, browns and yellows so as not to create a story problem. I really like the very cartoony designs you've done in your early pencil concepts. Try to retain that fun feel for expression even if you're doing this as a CG film. Fun characterization through lively facial expressions and body language is going to be the key to hooking your audience, not vivid colours on their physical designs. There's my two cents worth!

Hey Farrukh,
The story sounds really good - nice traditional romance that the audience will recognize and find ways to connect with the retarded things love has made us all do....Just a quick question - why Leander? Are you using the Shakespeare character from Midsummer Night's Dream - if so, remember that this character did NOT have affection for the girl that was digging him...so you might want to watch that in case the audience is able to draw that allusion to that character - which might happen as there aren't that many characters in lit with that name (although the spelling is different)
Great idea though and the pics are awesome. Will get voted best vegan film of the year FOR SURE.

Best,
Lyndsay

Wow. People are hard to please! I say go ahead, and cast a toxic tree-frog named Leander.
